OBAGI Medical Explores the Role of NAD+ in Supporting Skin Longevity Through Lunch & Learn in Bali

05 Oct, 2026

Bali, September 20, 2026 – OBAGI Medical Indonesia continued its Lunch & Learn Roadshow: Advancing the Science of Skin Health at Hyatt Regency Bali in collaboration with PERDSOKI Bali Branch. Focusing on the theme of Skin Longevity, the event served as a scientific educational platform for dermatologists to explore the role of NAD+ in the biological processes of the skin and its potential application in skin aging care.

The scientific session featured Dr. dr. Ni Wayan Eka Ciptasari, Sp.DVE., FINSDV, FAADV and dr. M. Akbar Wedyadhana, Sp.DVE., FINSDV, FAADV, IFAAD as speakers, with dr. Nyoman Yoga Maya Pramita, Sp.DVE., FINSDV serving as moderator.

Dr. Eka explained that NAD+ is an important molecule involved in various biological processes, including energy metabolism, redox balance, DNA repair, and cellular regulation. NAD+ availability is dynamic and may change with age, including within skin tissue. Therefore, biological processes that depend on NAD+ are considered relevant to discussions surrounding skin longevity and the maintenance of epidermal and dermal functions.

“NAD+ plays an important role in various biological processes within the skin, from energy metabolism and cellular balance to DNA repair. As we age, changes in NAD+ availability may affect skin cell function. Therefore, understanding the role of NAD+ is becoming increasingly relevant to the skin longevity approach, particularly in supporting the maintenance of skin function and health over the long term,” explained Dr. dr. Ni Wayan Eka Ciptasari.

Building on this discussion, dr. Dhana highlighted that NAD+ restoration is being studied as a potential target for supporting various aspects of cellular aging in the skin. The integration of NAD+-based approaches into aesthetic care also presents new opportunities to support long-term skin health.

“Topical NAD+ offers a promising new approach to supporting skin rejuvenation and long-term skin health. However, its application in aesthetic care should remain guided by evidence, appropriate patient selection, and clinical experience to ensure that its use is tailored to each patient’s skin condition and individual needs,” said dr. Dhana.

The discussion on NAD+ was further complemented by the introduction of NU-GEN Cellular Renewal Serum by OBAGI Medical, a serum powered by Age CTRL™ technology and formulated with NAD+, NMN, and Niacinamide to help support the skin renewal process and maintain a healthier, more youthful-looking appearance.

Through the Lunch & Learn series, OBAGI Medical continues to strengthen its commitment to delivering science-based education and fostering collaboration with the dermatology community. The initiative also forms part of OBAGI Medical’s ongoing efforts to promote a deeper understanding of skin health and advancements in medical-grade skincare.
